Wiper Blade Arm Malfunction
Wiper Blade Arm Malfunction
My driver side wiper blade arm suddenly stopped working - stopped in the up osition while I was driving in cold wet & snowy weather. The arm is offering no resistance and I can move it freely by hand. My passager side arm is still working properly and does NOT move when I try to move it by hand. Does anyone have any suggestions for diagnosing or fixing this issue?
Seems I read on here something about the linkage coming apart on somebody...... If it was the transmission I think both sides would quit and there would still be some resistance. Time to take the cowl cover off and have a look.
Here's some of our members cure:

Small world LONGBA!!! I had the exact same thing happen 2 weeks ago, and I am also in Syracuse!!! Must be a conspiracy!(or just our particular brand of weather)!!! I tore it apart to find that the plastic ball joint had worn out on the wiper linkage. Of course, you cannot buy just the linkage arm...had to get the whole assembly! (a little over $100). Mine is a company car so I had our mechanic take care of it! All is good now! If it were a personal vehicle I would have rigged it like this...

I found that the pin snapped
The wiper blade arm connector pin snapped. This pin connects the driver side to to passenger side arm and I need to find a replacement part. It is a metal pin fasterned to the underside of the drive arm by a half-round white plastic cap. If I can finds one or a similartype pin, I will be in good shape.
