Yet Another FOB problem/question

Fellas;

I have searched and havent quite seen my problem. Both of my FOBs are dead (OEM), replaced battery no help, had a friend redo the welds, and we got the Emer buttons to work, but not the lock/unlock.

I bought two aftermarket FOBs and took them to two different Locksmiths. Neither one could program either for the two new FOBs.

I have checked and I got the right frequencies, as they match the OEM.

Last guy said there could be something wrong with the car.

So, I am going to have to go the dealer, before I go there, just wanted to know if anyone has run into this before? If so, what where the trials and tribulations and results?

Edit: Forgot '06 HHR LS 5 Spd Manual.

Regards
Rotor

I had one that just seemed to get harder and harder to use (main one I use). I finally tried switching out the rubber pad the buttons are molded into and that fixed mine. Are the icons worn away?

Try using a keypad from the new fob in the old fob.<br />

The circuit boards should be identical if the part numbers match. Some have reported bad clones out there.

I did the same thing. Replaced only the rubber pads at about $6 each. Cleaned the gold contacts with alcohol and everything works great. Had done the new solders earlier in its life.
Good luck with repairs. Hope its a simple fix.
