What might be kinda cool would be 2 covered bridges about 350 feet apart

What really is very cool is 2 pairs of covered bridges on the same ride

8/29/2010 Both pair in North Eastern VT

More pix from that ride to come

Vermont & NH Covered Bridge Hunt 8/29/2010

Willard Twin Bridges in North Hartland, VT

Another pair are Station Bridge and Lower Bridge in Northfield VT.
Upper Bridge from post #32 is a mile up this same street.

Slaughter House Bridge, also in Northfield, is where the cool kids play

Chamberlin bridge in the backwoods of Northfield leads to someones backyard

Back toward civilization is Mosley bridge, the last in my Northfield part of the hunt

About 45 miles across Eastern Vermont to Edgell Bridge in Lyme NH to end last weeks CBH

I'm planning another CBH in Northern NH this coming week.
It'll get much busier up they-ah with the leaf peepers soon so I'd like to finish what I've started.
I missed about 3 bridges when I was plotting my routes but otherwise I'm running out of new bridges to visit in NH & VT.
There are a few in Maine and a couple in Western Connecticut but I'll save those for Spring when the rivers and brooks will be raging.

I have a couple of New England waterfalls guidebooks for next Spring.
Hopefully my wrecked ankle will be all bettah so I can incorporate covered bridges and hikes with fire towers and waterfalls into more organized trips.

I also heard there's a truckload of wooden covered bridges in NY & PA, hmmm

I took Mason Road in Brookline NH for the first time the other day and look what's been waiting there for me

Nissitissit Bridge & Baby Nissitissit Bridge across the street from it

Quote from http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/W...e_Brookline_NH

"Nissitissit Bridge in Brookline, New Hampshire is a pedestrian covered bridge painted in red and white.
Half of the bridge (46 feet) was originally owned by the Covered Bridge Craft Store in Nashua, NH.
The store closed and the bridge was donated in 2001 to the town of Brookline, NH.
The town extended the bridge to a total length of 110 feet and placed it over the Nissitissit River near Lake Potanipo.
The bridge sits on three concrete abutments (four spans) that were formerly part of an old Boston and Maine Railroad bridge which was used by the Fresh Pond Ice Company at Lake Potanipo.

In 2006 the Cosmopolitan Magazine put Nissitissit Bridge on a list of the sexiest spots in the country and labeled it New Hampshire's "loveliest kissing bridge".

You'll find the bridge on the south side along Mason Rd and around 300 feet west of the intersection of Route 13 and Mason Rd in Brookline, NH.
Parking space is available next to the bridge."

I've been looking in the Tennessee, Georgia, NC, Kentucky area for CBs to visit for when I move to TN.

Here's one I'll have to visit in Madisonville, Kentucky

He actually cut a VW in half for it

I just found a website that has many more covered bridges than the sources that I've been using.
A lot of them are privately owned rinkydink little ****boxes but some are pretty cool and actually useable.
Beauty's in the eye of the beholder but I'm sure the neighbors think it's better than sliced bread

Here's one behind The Bull Run Tavern in Shirley, Mass about 15 miles from my house.

Dirty HHR - winter - another nasty storm coming tomorrow - winter

Yeah I don't get how people could do that. Unless it's not a daily driver in the winter time.
