Hi I have a 2006 with a 2.2 check engine light came on code says mass air flow sensor, temp sensor. I replaced bother MAF and ambiant temp sensor. Cleared the codes, drover 2 miless it's back on. How do I get rid of this? Thanks

 

What is the code? Did this happen immediately after a air filter change?

Fwiw. Codes don't tell you what part is bad. It tells you what part has sensed a faulty reading.

 

Ok it's code P0113: intake air temp (IAT) sensor circuit high voltage.

 

If all of the wires are connected and in good shape the MAF is probably bad. The code sets if the temp reading is below -39C for 5 seconds.

Idk the part number right now. But if I unplug the MAF with the engine running it idles rough, but runs good when connected. So MAF must be functioning.

 

The IAT is part of the MAF. The way the MAF works is the computer calculates how much energy it takes to keep a heating coil at a certain temperature, that gives an AlGoreithm that tells it the mass of air flow over the coil. The intake air temperature is important.

The ambient air temp sensor has little to do with it. If you replaced the MAF there must be a wiring problem. There are only 2 wires concerned both are tan, one is the signal and one is low ref (-). The wires going to the MAF connector can be mishandled and damaged.

 

Did you disconnect the battery when you changed the MAF?
If not it will take some drive cycles to aquaint to the ECM.

 

Yes I disconnected the battery for over an hour, and the code was back on the second start up.
