06 HHR LT really stumped

Hello, everyone. I have an 2006 HHR LT 2.2 automatic tranny. I'm really stumped and hoping someone can help. My HHR was running like a new car, one day all the sudden it started running rough losing a little power and seemed like transmission didn't want to go into high gear, power steering light came on then service air bag then stereo went off then dash gates failed then finally the car died. after you would do the passcode relearn the car would start right up and run great for about 10 mins then the same exact problem in the same order happens again. I replaced the ECM and still doing exactly the same, still shuts off and after passcode relearn starts back for 10 mins or so. Would a bad or failing TCM cause this problem? any ideas?

I hope you didnt pay someone for that ECM replacement.

You need a new battery. If you've replaced it recently, do it again. Our cars were built in the beginning era of TOTAL electronic control. The battery is responsible for keeping things operating smoothly even after the car has been started. The alternator just keeps the battery topped up while its doing the legwork. If a battery is having voltage issues you will get all the symptoms you are getting.

How do people think computers become "failing"? Digital means "on or off".

You have to short the computers to break them. They don't just wear out.

Hey, I really really appreciate all the advice here. I will definitely head out and get a new battery. I didn't think it was battery bc I just installed a remanufactured battery and I didn't have this problem when my old battery was crapping out on me. I do appreciate this advice. I'll certainly post update.

The battery has to have over 12.6 volts, anything lower and it’s curtain for the electrical system.
