Moving HHR with no battery

I need to tow my HHR to a shop to hopefully get it back on the road, but, even with a battery in it, can the shifter be moved out of park to roll the car around? It won't start .

You should be able to move it out of park with jumpers attached.

The battery is not dead, just not in the car, it has an electronic problem, not an electric problem, something to do with the brain or brains in the car

The battery provides the power for the brain in the car.

If you can lift the front end of the car off the ground you should be able to tow it just fine, providing you can get in and release the parking brake.

The doors do not unlock very well without a battery in place.

Please someone correct me if I am wrong, but you could try and do the giant flat head or pry bar method that to let trucks use to shift a car, located under the hood. I've never tried it before buy baybr ine of these guys have.

I believe BQS4 is meaning that the shifter is stuck in park because without power the shift inter lock is locking the shifter and the key.

9V across the + and ground should do it, then stick the key in and move the shifter.
