Question closing threads

Was the ability to close threads taken away?

I was going to close a classified thread I started but the close thread option isn't there like it used to be.

All edits to threads are time limited. Which thread do you want closed?

That parameter can be toggled by an Admin if they so choose. Many boards don't use the timeout option on edits. On other boards that run this software, a OP can delete an entire thread by deleting the original post, but closing in place is always reserved for moderators. Deleting is always the nicest way to eliminate an expired "for sale" thread and get rid of some clutter at the same time.

This is not entirely true, at least it didn't use to be. In the past you could close a thread long after you were unable to edit a post. The one I am talking about was a matter a just a few days.

Not that I don't love this forum, I do, but it is the most restrictive forum of the many I am on.
