With the amount of Spam now being introduced to this forums General area, I suggest the need for another Moderator.

It appears that a good amount of time passes before an obvious Spam issue is addressed, even after a number of "red triangles" are sent.

Additionally, another Moderator may help with monitoring flaming, abuse, personal attack and non compliant issues.

I would nominate Courthouse Deb, if she is willing. She appears to have the composure and the talent to provide acceptable performance. Besides she is probably on-line more than I am.

I don't think anyone was implying that anybody is slacking off. Just a lot of hours in the day for three people to cover.

I vote my husband (HHR Forever) since he seems to be on here enough, and is one of the people reporting alot of it too.

Thanks for the vote of confidence guys. These spammers are relentless and the admin and moderators can't be on 24/7. They have done a good job of getthing these off as quickly as possible. Most spammers know that especially during the holidays, people are busy and they use that to their advantage. Unfortunately...the spammers spend more time online than even I do.

I agree - spammers find a way to get in and post stuff regardless of the firewalls/number of moderators/screening methods, etc. It's just something we have to put up with, I guess. I don't mind it so much, seeing as you can generally tell the message is spam before you even read the whole thread, and then you can just avoid it thereafter.
