Too much trouble logging in may be discouraging members from coming back

I haven't been too active on this site as of late, because it's just too much trouble logging in. I realize that there is a series of gyrations that require a "remember me", but my business is picking up and I don't have the time to argue with the security. In the same token, my company site is so much easier to access. What's the deal with all the security? I would think that the site is losing members because of this. Not a complaint, but rather an illustration of what the result is on my personal behavior in regard to this friendly website.

Use Mozilla Firefox as your browser. Log into the site and when your done for the evening save the open tab. Next time you go on the net via Mozilla-voila-ChevyHHR.Net is back without have to log in. Just hit new posts and the screen will refresh.

I don't really have this problem. I did when I first signed up but after I went through the "remember me" deal the first time I've had no problems since.

I've never had a problem to be honest.

I never have the problem, either on Firefox (PC) or with Safari (Mac). Logged in the first time, and never again.

It's been this way since an update was done some time in 2008, not sure when though. I wish i could say it will get fixed. But only JonyyB can rectify this problem.

I agree with Johns post that this has hurt membership.

If I may add to this.....

One of the reasons why I'm NOT a paying member is because of this sign in issue. My thinking......he's not managing the site. Might as well just get the free access. It is the ONLY site, of well over 100, that I use daily and have this problem.

I do know, after thorough searching, the cause on my end. My "cookies", temporary files and history are automatically deleted daily. So all the websites I use require the sign-in again. BUT this one requires the sign-in several times to gain any access. DUMB if you ask me.

Moderators may provide this to the owner, if you wish.

I have Never had this problem.

When I signed up/in the first time I checked the "Remember Me" box and have never had to resign in again. I just go to Favorites in IE and click on the link to here that I saved. And i'm just logged in as always.

I did have this problem till I signed up for premium membership and actually I probably won't renew the premium because of this. It is just rather annoying to have to signed in twice to do anything.
