Anyone know what color the dome light wires are?

 

Take the dome light down and look, You might be able to see with just the lens off.

 

There are three wires:

Black...Ground
Grey....Interior Lamp Control
Blue/White Stripe......Courtesy Lamp Supply Voltage

 

Does anyone know what the size are the bulbs? I like to change them to led to match the map lights in my mirror.

 

I didn't think about it until now, those wires can be caught at the door switch. I needed to know this for the dome light hook-up on the mobile dvd player.

 

Where is the best place around the dash to catch the wires for the interior lights? Im putting in some LEDs and want them to come on with the dome/mirror lights and fade out.

 

Another question. How do you put the dome light back? I replaced mine (broken switch, covered by warranty but I said I would install it myself to avoid the wait). There are 3 tabs, plus a magnet. I got 2 in, but can not figure out how to slide it in far enough to catch the third. It is in pretty secure without it, due to the magnet. Feel like just breaking it off, but am stubborn enough to want to know how it is supposed to go in.

(Embarrased to go back to the dealer and admit I could not do it ) I am friendly with the mechanics and dont want to look like a lame

 

What would be the color of the wires at the door jamb? I tried to find a Blue/White in my wire harness but couldn't. I have an 06 LT.

 

do the wires from the dome light go into the fuse box on the floor? bc i just want to tap into those wires for floor led lights.
