I would like to change the 12 volt cigarette lighter outlet to a switched source. How can this be done. I would like to power my XM radio so it turns on and off by the key. Thanks in advance to those who repond.

 

Connect a relay to it. Have the relay activated buy the radio's remote line. Any stereo shops should be able to handle this simple mod. If you are not familiar with stereo installs, I urge you not to do this yourself since it's very easy to make mistakes.

 

I hooked my sirius up so it works just like the radio, off when door is opened or times out with key off and door not opened. I would have to look but I think to radio fuse.
