Hooking up a better sub: Question on Line level/output converters!

So I need some more bass then the stock unit can provide me so i'm grabbing a 12" kicker stuff back there. I will be using a Kicker 400:1 amp for some punch.

My question is:

I fully intend to leave the stock premium deck alone regardless of how craptatcular it is and from what I understand I can use a line level/output converter to pull a signal to convert to RCA from the stock sub's lines right?

This is what I was looking at:

http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...rter&i=142SLC4

Will this work for what I need to do?
Will I run into any problems with hissing , interference etc?

I plan on installing a remote line level controller as a makeshift volume control for the sub since I adjust it all the time anyway. Any insight would be much appreciated

That will do the job. I use a line level converter similar to that for mine in the beginning.
