Talking Audio Install

Hey guys! I haven't posted in a while, but I wanted to update you all on my progress with my car audio system in my 2009 LT.

MTX Thunder 4002 Class A/B Amplifier - 1200 watts peak - bridged
12" Alpine Type-R - dual voice coil - sealed box
Kicker KS65 6.5" coaxial speakers
Alpine SPS-610 Type-S 6.5" coaxial speakers
1/0 gauge power/ground wires

I installed the amplifier under the rear seat in the middle where there is more clearance. The wires are hidden under the carpet and emerge through black rubber grommets. With the amplifier located here, I can flip the larger passenger side of the seat up and adjust bass boost and gain. I also have a remote gain installed in the coin area forward of the gear selector.

I know this thread is worthless without pics so here is one of the amplifier (as the speakers are clandestine within the door panels anyway).

That looks super but more importantly it must sound awesome. What kind of head unit do you have. I want to change mine out from stock but am not sure about the after market chime boxes.

I have everything hooked up to the stock non-pioneer head unit. My excuse is trying to keep my car audio on the down-low, but in reality I want a 7" touchscreen DVD. I just don't know if it will have an appropriate viewing angle. I also don't know when I can afford one, haha. An aftermarket head unit will act as sort-of an amplifier and will have better equalization features for music clarity.

Some more pics as promised...
