Radio dies, needs reset

New member here, looking forward to connecting with fellow HHR owners....

Last week the radio went completely blank on my 2007 HHR. I don't think its the Bose but does have a subwoofer in the back. I checked the fuse and it looked ok but being too lazy to test it I popped in a new one and the radio came back to life. Made me wonder why a fuse would randomly blow though so I have been waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Sure enough, it went out again. I replaced the fuse again and once again, radio came back to life. This time though, I noticed that the presets didn't go away. I thought this was odd as they should be wiped out as it didn't have power for a couple of days. This time I checked the old fuse and sure enough, its fine.
Any ideas where I would start to figure this out? I suspect it will go out again and it will probably come back to life after I take the fuse out and put it back again. Is it time for a new radio?

You have the Pioneer system. Bose was not used for either factory system in the HHR's like they were for previous GM cars. Infact Pioneer probably makes the base system too but it is the amplified one that gives credit to Pioneer.

Anyway you probably are needing a new head unit. You can get a factory replacement new or used but the dealer or atleast someone with acess to tis2000 or what ever the newest revision is called and a techII to have the car recognize the new radio. Otherwise you can get a lan3 or lan4 harness adapter and an aftermarket radio. Use the lan4 version to keep the factory amp. Or you can use either version if you go with an aftermarket amp setup.
