New owner from houston

Just bought my new hhr about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I have been admiring them for a few years now but I havnt been able to justify buying a new car until now. I have 2 kids...11 and 13 and they seem to be getting taller and taller..so hense... new car time. Currently I own a 97 eclipse turbo (heavily modded) that Ive been building for 2 years and a 04 monte carlo ss. I purschased a 2008 HHR black in color (basic model) . My plans are simple... keep it simple. I had a 15" flip down screen installed for the kids for our trips out of town and 20's wraped in 225/30's. My next mod will be lowering about an inch but I'm not sure yet. What has impressed me about the hhr's is that its roomy inside with a small car feel. The body lines are sexy!

Here it is just days after I picked it up from the dealership

Here it is as it sits now

looks nice those wheels are sweeeeeeet be careful with lowering it if you put too much weight in it the rear tires could rub. you might want to think about rolling the finder lip. mine rubbed on a 450 mile trip with only my 10 year old son and luggage in the back and im running goldlines with 18's and welcome to the best HHR site

That is the reason why I'm not sure about lowering it. My new wheel /tire combo is the exact same size in height as the stock ones. Would I need to worry about the rubing? As far as rolling the fenders.. would I only have to do the rears or all four corners? How difficult would it be to role?

WOW !!!! What a nice change to the new HHR !
Welcome to the site. Having live in Porter for 31 years, we know how cool Houston is.
Looking forward to seeing you at the "2nd Annual HHRitage Nationals in Branson in 09", or in Houston when we go down there to see our kids.

my tire and wheel combo are stock height but with a 38 offset they will rub in the rear. you should only need to roll the rear.

I just got my blk/blk LT1 1 week ago. So far I'm just loving it, i'll be going to UH downtown 4 days a week and before I was driving a F150 and the gas was just killing me. My friend has a HHR and after we drove around town I just had to have it. BTW kwboydston what kind of wheels are those? I'm feeling the retro look.
