Possibly coming to Longview, TX area ...

I'm curious to know who on here is in the Longview/Tyler, TX area. Just curious.

Okay, more than curious. My wife (formerly a GMPT engineer in New York) just got a job offer last week from General Dynamics in Longview, which she is seriously considering. If she takes it, she'd go first, then I'd come down a year later with Stitch II, probably toting a trailer with what furniture we leave up here so we can sell our house. I've gotten a great rapport with the Buffalo-area members (we established WNYHHR together), and if this move takes place I'd like to do the same with the Texas crowd.

I have a friend who owns a ranch outside of Big Sandy. We visited 2 years ago on our way to Austin. Pretty country out that way.

I dated a girl in Longview once. I can't say anything about the city really stood out, just a bunch of good folks for the most part. East Texas in general is beautiful. Mild winters and hot as heck summers.

I live about an hour or so away. I've been through there plenty of times and have no complaints of the general area. The folks are nice for the most part and there's planty to do to keep yourself entertained lol. I'd definately be up for gettin somethin goin for the east Texan HHR owners.

Glad to hear this!

Probably the soonest I'd want to do anything with any Texan HHR owners would be next June, which would be when the move would be finalized (i.e. I would actually be down with my car, as opposed to just my wife being there).

Sounds good to me. That'll give me time to get mine a little more "prepared" for a gathering and time for our son to be ready for a little road trip
