Dragon still Closed!

Well, the wifie and the boy and I tried to get down US129 tonight for a little sunset cruise thru the dragon, but it's still closed. It was supposed to re-open today, but nope! so instead of turning around we took 336 back up north, and let me tell you that road is just as much fun as US129 and this one goes up and over the smokies and back into Maryville. the only traffic we encountered was a black Ferrari going the other way. This road has some amazing up and down 180 switchbacks (we're talking 3 wheeling it on a couple of the inside ones) and a downhill straightaway that makes your mouth water! Good brakes and tires recommended!

Anyone driving through this summer check for dragon updates through their website, otherwise there are a ton of really exciting drives everywhere around the dragon.

if looking for 336 it starts at the north end of the dragon and ends in Maryville.

You should take the trail of tears up through the mountains some time, me, the wife and daughter took that route on the way back from Gatlinburg one time or take a trip over to Cherokee, NC. through the mountains and stop at the Appalachian trail :)

Thanx HHRSouth!

Yeah we have only been here a month, and have spent more time just driving around the mountains then I care to admit. I love driving this litttle car, and the roads up here make the trips that much more enjoyable. plus, any family time that isn't in front of a TV, is fine by me!
