Hello, does anybody recommend any mechanic shops they take their HHR to in the Fort Lauderdale/broward area. Later this year I will be due to replace my shocks and struts and may lower the car. Since these cars have problematic front ends I would prefer a shop that has dealt with these cars before.

 

I vacation down in sunrise, unfortunately I don't have tools there.
But really it's not a difficult job to do struts and shocks, any decent mechanic won't have a problem.
While the front struts are off just ask them to check for play in the control arm bushings and end links.

 

Sounds good thanks. ..last time I did the struts/shocks it was at the Stealer and I spent about $1600 because they had to change a bunch of stuff. Mounts, bushings, control arms, struts, shocks + more. I will probably wait another a month or two when I reach about 50k since doing them last. I'm thinking next time I'll add moog links, energy suspension bushings + struts and lowering springs
