Yeah there are a mess of Hillbilly Hot Rods around here. Tallahassee is a pretty decent road trip from Pcola.

Yes I know exactly where Fairhope, Al lies. While in the Coast Guard I spent nearly five years in Mobile while living on the west side of Pensacola. I mostly rode my old HD to work, weather permitting, and utilized nearly every route possible to break up the boredom. I've been thru Fairhope many times.
I've seen several SS' over this way. Saw a black one today on Fairfield Drive and there's a red one which sometimes comes thru my subdivision. Maybe I'll see you around.

Which Coast Guard base in Mobile? I'm very familiar with Brookley.I work for Mobile Fire/Rescue and we keep our fireboat docked there.

I was over there in the late 90's. At that time there was Station Mobile on Brookley and we had the SARDET on Dauphin Island. Since then Station Mobile ceased to exist and the SARDET is now USCG Station Dauphin Island. I was also stationed on the now decommissioned USCG Cutter Sweetgum, it was replaced by the Cutter Cypress. I finally retired from Uncles Sams Canoe Club in 2004.

???. The Coast Guard base at Brookley is still open. As stated, we keep the fireboat Phoenix docked on the base.PITA to go through the security gates in the middle of the night. The base has been in operation for the last 27 years that I have been assigned in the downtown area. Also still have the Coast Guard Aviation Center at Bates Field I believe. Not sure about Dauphin Island.
