I'll check when i get to work tomorrow. I know most of them won't start until March, but there may be some pop-ups here and there!! I'll definately keep this post, posted. I'm not aware of any thru the end of the year...but who knows.

I'd definately be interested in getting a club together if possible!! I know the PT club is quite strong in this area, so we need to out do them!! I'm noticing alot more HHR around lately. I'm not the only purple one anymore. I always try to wave or nod at other HHR owners. My girls play a game to see who can spot the most HHR's. I'm impressed by the numbers!!

If anyone has any ideas as to how we can get the HHR owners in this area together, please let me know!!! I work at a car dealership right now and we have pleanty of room if we want to all meet sometime!! Just let me know!!

Thanks,
Angi

Let's show those PT Cruisers!!!

I must share this in hopes that it will help with getting a strong HHR
club here in Utah...

Last wednesday i was headed home at about 9:30pm; home is 7900 S & west of Bangater; i was on Bangater heading south when i caught the red light on 9800 south, i was in the center lane waiting for the light when suddenly 2 PT Cruisers drive up on each side of me start honking and flipping me off! The light turns green and they both took off like mad men making sure to get in front of me and giving me a hard time till i finally turned west on 7800 south.

It was actually kind of amusing but i would love to show those PT's who they are messing with!!!! So i will be keeping a close eye on this thread for anything coming up or for any ideas anyone would like to share. I will also post any i think of or shows i hear about.

I am the Utah rep for RockyMountainEcotec.net. We are a club that is primarily based on the Cobalt SS and Ion RL, but we welcome all Ecotec cars. We even have a few member that don't have Ecotecs. As far as we see it, they love cars as much as we do. Since you guys are Ecotec's also I want to invite you to join us for our first meet in Utah on 12/2. We will be meeting at 1pm next to Red Lobster on 1300 East at I-80 in Sugarhouse. There, we will do a quick meet and great and then move on to do something that everybody agrees on such as bowling, sledding, cruise, etc. This event may mostly be dominated by the Cobalt SS, but I would appreciate it if the Solstice guys in UT came along too. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me.

Sincerely,
Connor,
Utah Rep,
RockyMountainEcotec.net

P.S, since one of you wanted some help showing up the PT guys I think we can help. The 2.2 and 2.4 in your cars are the same used in many members cars. Some of those members have made some upgrades for performance and can help you tune your cars as well. One of our memers are currently offering a car to be used so that a turbo can be made for the 2.2 right now. And if that still doesn't make you fast enough, just call on the supercharged guys to help you out. I would love to show a DCX guy what being owed is like.

I'm not completely sure if this would work on the hhr, but chevy has posted on one of its websites (i think it is the tuner website) how to build the 2.2 cobalt up to 1250bhp and 800+tq. I think this would be enough to show up a PT Cruiser. They did use a few aftermarket parts, but the first part of the build is amazingly quick and easy, and complete with part numbers for the GM parts. The first part of the build uses the supercharger from the Supercharged Cobalt SS and a CAI. I think they said it would get you up to ~250bhp. That's enough to get you into the 15's at this elevation. Even with the added weight of the HHR.

I'll find that website and post it up when I get a chance.

Thumbs up

Bought ours 12/23/06. Went to the dealership originally looking for a used truck and saw an HHR on the showroom floor. We had never seen one before or heard of the model.
It reminded me of the old pannel trucks from the late 40's whick I've always loved. Having a standard transmition was a big selling point, and I got in and sat down. I'm 6' tall and the one on the floor had a sunroof which gave me zero head room, which was a disapointment.
The salesman we went to see said the ones without the sunroof had more clearance and we test drove one and fell in love with it.
When the weather clears a bit and I can get the salt and muck off, I'll post a picture. Ours is silver and if any of you have seen Revenge of The Pink Panther, our car is named after Clouseau's souped-up crime buster, though in much better working condition.
