Smile A request for someone in the Denver, CO area.

[EDIT] NEVERMIND! I'll leave the post here in case anyone else is interested.
It looks like a nice car for a good price if you don't mind no warranty and no ABS.
[/EDIT]

Original post:
Can someone go check out this car in Englewood, CO?
Here is the autotrader ad:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...e=&cardist=272

It's at a dealer called "The Sharpest Rides" at 1922 W. Warran Ave.
I'm in Northern NM and it would be about a 5-6 hour 1-way drive for me to look at it.
It's got everything I want (it's an LT with ABS and manual tranny which is a difficult combo to find) and has a good price, but the miles are a bit high (i.e. the bumper-to-bumper warranty is gone, although the 5-year/100K warranty is still valid, I believe). It also has a clean Carfax. I'm really serious about buying an HHR, but don't want to drive all the way up there just to be disappointed if it's been abused, etc..

Even if you're not comfortable driving a stick, I'd even appreciate someone simply looking at it and starting it up.

I'm not all that picky, but I'd like to know if:
1) it has lots of knicks/scratches/dings.
2) the owners manual is in the glove box,
3) the spare/jack are present
4) the interior looks and smells clean
5) it has both sets of keys/remotes
6) any other negatives you find.

Anyway, if someone could do that for me, it would be greatly appreciated.
My email is timcat99@q.com if you'd like to help me.

It's never had a warranty repair performed on it and it was built on 3/17/2006. Also was a retail sale, so it is not from a rental fleet. The factory warranty will expire on 5/01/2010 or 36,127 miles, and '06 models do not come with the 5/100 powertrain unless you buy it from a GM dealer as a certified used car. Someone in CO will have to tell you anything else about it. And they are wrong on it having ABS!

Here is the build sheet.

Thanks so much! You saved me a bunch of trouble.
I did not know that about the 5-year/100K warranty. I thought all GM vehicles had that as of 2006. Do the 2007s or 2008s have the 5yr/100K warranty?

This is a perfect example of what I said in my other post about dealers/sales people saying the car has ABS, but it really doesn't. It's the first thing listed in the autotrader ad, so he must have been really sure it had it.

To everyone else in Denver, nevermind, I'm only interested in HHRs with ABS.

If you're looking to buy in Colorado, give Suss a try. They have great deals on pre-owned vehicles and have quite a few HHR's in stock. If you find one you like, I could go out and check it out for you. I've got a 5 speed myself, so test driving is not a problem either. Shoot me a PM if you like.

You could also get hold of the dealer where I bought mine...Century Chevrolet in Broomfield...they are a great bunch and I worked with a guy named Jeff Konrardy...he'll find you anything you want.

Yes, you're right, I agree. There are some great dealers out there.
They seem to be the minority, though.
By the way, that applies to all makes and models of car dealers (new or used), not just GM. ...and I don't necessarily think it means they're dumb or lying, etc. It's just a hectic business that requires constant updating of your inventory and your car knowledge. I think it really requires a car lover for the job.

Thanks, and if you happen to see a 5-speed LT with ABS for sale, by all means, please let me know.
