2009 DejeVous Rendevous cruises 2 Solvang

Help me make this a great event.

1. How far would you like to cruise the day of the event.
Back roads to Santa Barbara and back up the coast?
2. Bring a picnic or stop and eat in San Barbara or some place else?
3. How much time do you want to spend at stops as we are cruisen?
4. Stop on the beach and get your feet wet?
5. Would you be interested in participating in a practice run?
6. Stop and see antiques?
PLEASE MAKE YOUR IDEAS BE KNOWN, REMEMBER, your one of Harvey's Stock, Mild, and Wild friends.
This will be a dry G2G so we will not be stoping at any wineries.

Thank you for your input
See ya down the road

Bud, on my Coast Run every year we do about 100 miles each way with three stops each way. Each stop is 20 minutes with a couple of hours for lunch in the middle. This is a Fiero run and we do it fast so 200 miles may be too far for cruising closer to the speed limit. We don't do long stops because this Run is all about driving the cars on the curvy highway up the coast.

May not work for HHRs but this is what we do.

Once you get dates, you might want to see about getting that parking lot in the center of Solvang set aside for parking. We did that for a Fiero show recently. They blocked off the entire parking lot for us for the full day. The cars drew lots of attention!

You know you can call me for help if needed.

what do you mean exactly by a practice run? if you're talking about running the route with a few cars to get an idea for time, i'm game for that, i live in the area and it's pretty easy for me to make it out there. i'll tell you this much, that time of the year is a very hot time, summer usually stays 100+ out there, quite often getting around 110-115. the valley gets quite toasty. now, incorporating in the 154 to the route would be nice, there is some beautiful scenery out there, and if you want, we could even take Stagecoach road, as that is a lot of fun. stagecoach bypasses crossing the BIG bridge out there, and takes you through the tight twisty roads along the sides of the mountains, passing by Cold Springs Tavern. it's by no means a high speed "corner carving" road, nor is it the worlds smoothest road, but the sights are pretty neat, and would be very pleasing to the people when taken at the slower speeds the road commands (last time i was on it i was going a bit faster than i probably should have, i was in my Camaro ). just some thoughts for ya.

that might explain why one morning on my way home from work i saw a BUNCH of Fieros heading towards Solvang from Buelton. i was on the employee shuttle bus heading home, would have been sometime around 8:25am or so, and saw a line of about 5 Fieros all heading the other direction, we were coming into Buelton from Solvang.

That might be a nice place to have lunch if were not rushed(or all get tables at the same time).
