Wow--I am shocked and saddened... Charles was a true Gentleman... He freely shared his vast knowledge at our G2G's... He was one of the first SoCal members I met (at OC Fairgrounds) and was instrumental in my decision to select the "SS"... I am SO glad I was able to spend some time with him...

Charles: have fun up there!!

So sorry for your loss Marilyn & Larry...Charles was a great guy to talk to in PMs & on the forums, & I'm sure in person also. He will be greatly missed here.

It is indeed a sad day, we lost a great guy today. Charles was not just an HHR owner, he was a true friend to many of us. I am happy to say that the car we both have was not the only thing we had in common, we talked about the disease we both shared and ...in a weird way...it was kind of a nice topic change from all the usual HHR stuff. Marilyn & Larry, I can only hope that we will see you soon, a hug and tear are in order! Todd (Uma)

When I first met Charley he was someone that immeadiatly became a friend. When I said I was going to change shifters, he gave me the one he had never installed on his Pre-SS and would not take anything for it. We were at the Road King Show last year. It was sunny and he had forgotten his hat so I got him one of the event caps to protect his head.

After he and I started talking we found that our friendship dated back to the '70's. We hung out with the same group on Van Nuys blvd. We would talk about names from the past and try and figure out where they were today.

He would always set the Friday lunch cruz to Bob's Bib boy and each one I planned to attend I got side tracked at work or with kids.... I hope Doc and Charley meet up in heaven and carry on the HHR club events for members as they arrive.

I think we need to add a new region to the list for our angelic members

I got a call from Marilyn today. She was thinking perhaps we could plan a g2g some time in June as a memorial for Charles. She mentioned possibly Tom's Farm as a location. If someone has a better idea or location please let me know. I was thinking maybe a cruise up to Bob's Big boy in Burbank since Charles met there regularly with various HHR folks. We have some time to think about it.
