Boyd's Pick Best of Show December 2007
Ok I am still in shock myself folks, but I had a pretty good day yesterday.
I went on a mission yesterday to Boyd Coddingtons shop to set up the g2g for SoCal HHRs next month. It was their usual monthly open house but they were also having a toy drive and raffle for the local charities around La Habra. I talked with Jo Coddington and she was very positive about us coming next month and thought it would be great.
I bought a few raffel tickets and decided to hang out for a while. I took some pics and walked around for a while. I went out front to get some fresh air and there was Boyd standing near my panel. I seized the oppourtunity and asked him to pose next to it. He said Sure and that "it was a great looking car". I was on cloud 9 after getting this photo. I am a big fan of Boyd and I have nothing but respect for him, so I was stoked. I spent the rest of the time standing in the show room looking at my picture and waiting for the raffle.
I watched the prize table get depleted and my numbers didn't come up. Then Boyd announced the winner of the car show, (I didn't enter, I was on a mission remember?) He picked "the blue and white 2-tone H22 by the front door." I wasn't sure what an H22 was so I just stood there for a moment, then Jo Coddington asks me if that HHR was mine? that Boyd meant HHR. I was floored to say the least. So I got a priceless (to me) trophy, a picture with Boyd and he even autographed the trophy. I know it wasn't SEMA or a major car show but to me it is the best.
BTW: It was worth getting up at 6 to wash my car between rain storms!
