Kris's new wheels

Well, I tried the big "OverHaulin" reveal today. I took the HHR wheels in last week to get powdercoated. She had no idea, so when we traded cars today, she thought I was just taking them in, I was picking them up and having them put on. After three days of delays I am there to get them..not ready! Two hours later, I come back to pick them up, not perfect, they want to redo them again, for the third time. After a few F-bombs and a very pissed off 300lb customer the owner decided to give them to me at no cost. To make a long story a little shorter...they did not fit because of all the extra coating around the inside where it fits over the hub. So now I have to sand all of that off and Kris did not get the surprise I wanted her to have. I need a beer. Todd (Uma)

Todd, you are such a dear and seeing you mad is not pretty (although I love hearing the VA accent come out when you do get upset).

I am sure Kris appreciates your effort anyhow and remind me *not* to go to these folks for powder-coating!

The do look cool & will look great on the AA5!

Todd-
As you know & they should have known, properly done powder coating, should have included covering the hub centers to maintain proper fit.. Actually they shouldn't have even PC'd the mounting flange. Over time the PC can pulverize & fall out leaving a loose wheel..

But, hey Man they look Really Hot tho !!!!! & familiar..

I do a few bike frames (here & there) & I always make sure the motor mount pads are not PC'd for this reason. Harley does the same..

That is the reason we dont powder coat wheels here at our shop....they tend to be a complete pain in the @$$ every time

Well they look pretty good in the Pics Todd.

I can't wait to see them in person, maybe I will have to slide by on Saturday to have a peek.
