David, i am from Anaheim. So don't know much about SD. But, you have to check out Seaport Village. Have a great time! Todd (Uma)

Hi David,

I'm the Local yokel.

There's Seaport Village, Like Todd (Uma) recommended then from there you can checkout San Diego bay (Hornblower boat Cruise, USS Midway Museum, Star of India-SD Maritime Museum).

From the Zoo, there's the surrounding Balboa Park.

There's Mission Bay and Pacific Beach

Another place is Mt Soledad Park above the village of La Jolla. If you wait until the marine layer burns off (in the afternoon) you can view the coastline North and South. On a clear day you can see as far North as Dana Point to as far South as TJ

Cheers and Happy Anniversary in advance

Grumpee had some good suggestions here are a few more,Cabrillo National monument is great too on Point Loma, and Hotel Del Coronado and the beach. And if you go to Point Loma get to Sunset Cliffs some cool picks there at Sunset.
