Cough, Cough, So far just getting smoked like a salmon.

The fires are closer than they ever have been before, and I have lived here for 40 years. Ashes falling all day.

I had class at 'State today and saw small ashes falling--we got out early due to the smell of the smoke coming in through the vents. Was weird coming out and the sky over Long Beach was brown. Hung out for dinner and by the time we came out, the car's were covered in ash! My Blackie was gray!

Drove home going like 80 to blow all the ash off....

I thought the fires were far until I get home and turn on the TV and realize, crap, the fires are here in North OC! Yorba Linda, Brea, Anaheim Hills...No wonder there was so much ash.

Kind of good we had our g2g last weekend as I hear Corona is affected...but feel bad for all those homes getting burned...

@ngelita...

Ashes were still falling in Long Beach with a heavy smell of smoke and eyes buning all afternoon till dusk, blood red sun around sunset, ERIE!! The smell of smoke is a little less tonight and the ash is letting up I think, I'll have to take a couple of shots of the car in the morning.

I saw that the 91 was closed.
I am about 12 miles from the Sylmar fire.

You alright out there, Charles? I hear Corona is getting slammed too and hope Kim and the family are doing ok.

I should have taken a pic of Blackie and Don's car when we left the restaurant--they looked gray and I was just blowing the ashes off (didn't want to hurt the pin striping by wiping!).

I was surprised that North OC was so bad! I thought all the brown smoke I saw was that Sylmar smoke.

be safe all.

I have a little smell and taste of smoke luckly the wind is not blowing the smoke toward me.
I hope Kim and Louis both check in.

We're okay here!! I can see the fire buring on the ridge above Chino Hills. We're down town Chino I'd say about 10 miles from the fire area. Jason's mom is closer she's probably about 7 miles, about the same distance as Louis. So they should be fine too!

The fire crossed the 57 East over to the West side, and they closed it from Lambert south. Before that, it was flanking the 91 in Anaheim Hills, and they closed much of 91 in that area through Corona. People were abandoning their cars on the 91 and running because of the air quality!! YES, we would have been in deep dung if we had been at Tom's Farms, because I think we would have had to drive home South, through San Diego!!

It's awful out here - big chunks of ash everywhere! Our cars never left the garage today.

Did you hear about the newsman reporting on the apartment complex that he had just put a deposit on this morning ---- as all 12 buildings burnt down!!!

A lot of displaced people tonight! I hope everyone gets home soon and that most will be greeted with good news there.
