SoCal HHR's Group
We are here...safe. She is still with us, sinking but has good spirits. We moved her to a hospice unit today for a 24 hr assessment to see if she can remain at home with nursing aids. After last night, we all have our doubts. Thanks for your good wishes. Hospice is amazing! Everyone is helping with laughter, love, stories, acceptance, and she is rallying for a while.
Thanks so much. We are home for a few days...going back soon. The other 2 kids fly in tomorrow for their goodbyes, and I'm afraid that's all she's holding on for.
Going to board the older 2 dogs this time, as Zanzi tried to eat the fence and come find us...poor abraded mouth. Zephyr was a trooper on the road. Hospice even likes doggy visits...posh place, wait on you hand and foot, and Marge is being treated like a princess. We are so impressed. But everywhere you go in Arizona, people are helpful and friendly. It's shocking.

A final update: then, please, someone post about the SoCalHHR group so we can quit this hijack... We returned Thursday, and Mom-in-law passed peacefully this morning after only 7 days in hospice. Funeral Weds, and we are actually so relieved that she suffered so little. All is well now.
