Tim,

How things have changed. I was in Tokyo in 1990-91. The majority of the signs were in English. Subway trains had line diagrams in english/Japanese. Made it fairly easy to get around - as long as you knew where you wanted to go

lookin forward to seeing the peeps this weekend!!
