SoCal Nostalgia

Things are a little slow, so I thought I would post a pic of my first G2G. It was Ricky and Ronnie's somewhere in LA. Cheri had flagged me down just a week beforehand, I was driving by Angelo's ( A local carhop) and her husband's Mopar club was meeting up. I noticed a sweet woody HHR and pulled in. Cheri was all over me, giving the website address, etc. I joined that day, and the rest is history. I can never thank her enough for getting me on here. Everyone feel free to post your first HHR g2g. Todd (Uma)

Todd, this was also my first G2G....ever I had already been on the registered on the site for some time then I got invited via PM from Cheri. Being my first time , I was a little shy, so it took me several passes around the block before I got enough guts to drive on in.

I missed the first Tom's due to taking an exam that day.
Don't remember why I missed Peterson's, also that month (11.07)

So my first g2g was Derelict Donuts/Boyd's, "fog-bank" cruise--January 2008.

What a long way we've come and along the way have made some great friends--in particular I'm amazed at what my car looks like from that first g2g @ Boyds.

I actually met UMA first at the Moon Summer BBQ in 2007. I had the panel maybe a week. I didn't know what Todd or Rick looked like but we were all there walking around. I told my nephew that UMA had to have been repainted, because no factory paint job ever looked that good. Little did I know it was all Todd making it shine like that.

The following month Todd, Rick and I went to Boyd Coddingtons 3rd annual car show in La Habra together and had a great day just shooting the breeze. Our first car show experience together.

I think it was Cruisin for a Cure after that. Then it all started to come together and 2008 was a busy year for the group. After the 20 car turnout at Boyds/Fog Cruise we really got going.

It is great to hear the stories about your first time at a g2g. Daryl I used to be so nervous before an event I could hardly stand it. Over time though, it just feels good to be with my freinds.

I fisrt met the crew the group was at Tom's G2G in 2008. I had my HHR for 3 months, found the web site by searching on the internet for HHR car clubs. Saw the thread for Toms Farm, and i think the first person Julie and I met was Angie. But everbody was we met were so nice. Now it's been one year and going strong.

Truth be known, I would've been there at the first Tom's event, but my shyness got to me...that's when i was overcome by the need to spend some coin and wound up driving straight up to Las Vegas

Yes!
The Walmart parking lot--I remember that now. You and Julie are awesome folks and love that I can see my favorite color HHR and how cool you have made it look.

I'm the same way, Daryl. Truth be told, that was probably why I didn't go to Peterson's--I am a true introvert and it took my all to not be so shy and go to DD/Boyd's that day.

SO glad I did and have learned to not be afraid to take chances with meeting people.
I'm the happiest I have been in a LONG time.

My first g2g was without my car and joining Todd in meeting everyone at Ricky and Ronnie's. It wasn't until last year when I finally had gotten my car and my first formal g2g was a car show Bud had invited us to in Rialto it was Tim Todd Bud and I as Run Whatcha Brung. That was a very nice and relaxing day. I have met some great people during our run so far. Hopefully will meet more.

Daryl, I was a little tentative myself. I think that was also Paul's first G2G (mrjuma), Jimmy, and Rick's. I am so glad we all got over our shyness Todd

I remember Moon's well, I saw the car but not you, Rick, Kris, and I walked around, remember how out of place we must have looked. But, I saw this car at Deja Vu, at the bookstore. A white panel, thought it was you, but needed to leave. Todd (Uma)
