Brake booster/Stage 1 upgrade

Bought a new 2009 HHR a few months ago. Early 2009 build date. Automatic.
Have read about the extra vacuum canister for the brakes on this car but haven't had any problems yet. Don't know if my car has it or not. Have a upgrade kit ready to install. Anyone have the upgrade w/o the extra vacuum canister? Will they reflash if it is installed later? Thanks.

Is the vac canister already installed on a 2010 or is it a service bulletin for the '10s, too?

Tnx - geo

Yours was built prior to January 2009, so it does not have the vacuum pump. If you are getting the hard brake pedal on cold starts, you need it.

You can install the upgrade kit and vacuum pump at the same time or separately. But your dealer will probably have to order the kit since it is usually not stocked item.

I already have the turbo upgrade kit. Haven't noticed any brake problems yet though. Does this get worse with age?
