Brake Hardware
I wish my 08" had Brembo's but it doesnt. 08's were supposed to have them with the LSD but they didnt make it into production.
I bought EBC red pads and they only come with the brake were indicators.
Maybe you can get them at the dealer for other GM vehicles but my dealer told me that they do not sell them for the HHR hardware seperate.
At this point I am just going to clean up the originals and reuse them. My calipers have three coats of paint on them and my caliper stickers just showed up in the mail. I just want to put it all back together and drive it!
Thanks to all for your input. G.B.

If there is nothing worng with you clips and they hold tight I would not worry about them. Seldom do I see clips go bad. Usally if they do someone has messed them up changing pads.
Often brake hardware is hard to find for many cars because few people buy it when they do their brakes.
In a perfect world it is best to replace it all but few do since usally there is nothing wrong with it.
Just inspect it, clean it and reuse it and you should be fine.
The only reason I had to replace mine on my GMC was the pad I had before came with the clips on them welded on and I lost the originals when I went to put the EBC's On.
And don't worry about not having Brembo's. While they are good the normal SS brakes are also very good and according to some better in daily driving per many of the reviews I read a few years ago.
If you did a lot of track time or were very very hard on brakes would they make much differance. If you are not exceeding the ability of the present brakes you would only be getting the benefit of powder coating of the Calipers.
With the SS unlike other cars it is a win win with either brake package as both serve it well in daily driving.

I bought some Chevrolet caliper stickers off of a guy on eBay. It appears that he is not longer registered. He had great communication and the stickers were shipped right away and look great. Dont know that the deal is. G.B.

I am in the process of replacing the pads on all four brakes. I have 50,000 miles on my SS and the front pads are done. I am putting on a set of EBC Red pads. My question is has anyone expericed problems buying new pad clips and caliper pin boots? I tried to buy some at my local Napa store but they could only get the rears. No number for the fronts. The rears dont really look right so I am not going to use them. I checked with the dealer and you cannot buy the brake hardware seperate. You can only get it when you buy the GM pads. I guess I am going to reuse my original pad clips and boots, but I really wanted to replace them since I was spending money on brakes anyways. G.B.

Many parts stores sell loaded calipers with pads and hardware already installed for very reasonable prices. Since you wanted a specific aftermarket pad, they might not be useful to you. Is the Cobalt hardware the same?
You do know that NAPA stands for No Auto Parts Available.

Anyways, I just cleaned up the originals and reused the hardware. The brakes are back togther with EBC Red pads, painted rotor hubs, painted calipers, and stickered. Thanks to all for your input and help. G.B.
Thanks hyperv6. I used the Eastwood caliper paint. If I was thinking ahead, I would have also ordered some black as well. The other day I saw a late model Ponitac GTO that had the caliper brackets painted black and the calipers red. I think it looked better than having both parts painted red. The black on the rotors is a high temp exhaust paint that I had laying around.
I am not very optimistic on how this caliper paint is going to hold up. I put 3 coats on and it still took next to nothing to nick the paint when assembling the calipers. The good news is I have a lot of red paint left over. a little goes a long way. G.B.
