Front Shock or strut?

Developed a noise in the front end of the car, near the wheel (driver's side). Didn't hit anything and I drive the car fairly gingerly (only 6000 miles at 14 months of ownership). Just wondering if anyone else has had any shock/strut problems in the front end, that weren't caused by hitting an obvious pothole or curb.

Thx

When you hit a bump, or a constant noise?

My 07 LT2 made the same noise and the dealer had it a month and one half all together and they never did find the noise. They replaced everything in the front end and nothing worked so with the dealers help, GM bought it back and I was able to get my 08 SS and with 15000 miles on it it is quiet as a mouse in the front end.

I lost a strut @ 4,000 miles. The seals gave way and blew the oil all over the suspension and garage floor. I was told they have a supplier issue with the struts... as soon as aftermarket ones are availible, mine will hit the dumpster!

Cool Strut

I am surprised that they are going to replace that strut for you; My strut blew on my Blue HHR LS, they told me that this was wear and tear. NOT warranty qualified. So, I changed cars, not strut. LOL

BTW.... Transmission mount replacement didnt solve my problem. Another $150 down the drain. Struts are my next point of focus. Crap.
