Gasket coverage?

I have noticed that in the last few thousand miles my valve cover gasket has started to drip slowly (only enough to deposit a very thin film that attracted the grime to draw my attention).

I would assume they would be covered in the powertrain warranty, but I feel like dealerships would give me a hard time since it isn't leaking "enough" to actually run the oil supply down at all between changes.

It only leaks enough to make the block dirty between changes so I can conclude the inevitable issue is now in its infancy.

Why not ask the dealer first before you reject it yourself. Nothing lost, nothing gained.

Besides you are approaching the end of you power train warrnty....5 year/100,000 mile, which does cover it. Go for it.

Good advice from Snoopy!!! But don't go into the dealer with it freshly cleaned - let it get a bit messy first so they can see that there is an issue with it.
