As long as you have not gone over 3 year or 36,000 miles. New car warrranties are good based on mileage no being the original owner.

This will only be done on AFFECTED vehicles within the VIN break points. If you give me the last eight of your VIN I can check to see if it is involved.

dang...looks like I should be calling the dealer 'bout this little problem...looks like I fall within in the vin break for the 08 model year (8S668219).

Yours is indeed involved. Better check to see if they have parts though. You are seeing this before the letters have been mailed to customers. Usually GM doesn't mail until they have shipped the parts to the dealers.
