New SS TSB
How can I find out what ECU program version I have? The dealer insists it has the latest and was done on 06-01 when I took it in the FIRST time, but this TSB is dated 06/12 so that seems... impossible.
And it keeps throwing the code, 3 times in the last 4 days, the light goes out after a few cranks. And the fact it came on in stop&go driving where there isn't time to ride the clutch much due to shifting up and down.

i have a consistant problem with my HHR SS, I had the stage kit installed and everything was fine for a month, two days ago I had a misfire take place and then a steady CEL, took it into the dealer and they said it was dirity injectors. They cleaned them and said it was fine. I'm pulling out of the dealership parking lot and it misfires again. I take it to another dealer, have them check over everything from the upgrade kit and verify the tune was correct. They say it was and I leave. Now it throws another light and the turbo is surging under boost, what the hell is it?? could it be the boost control valve???
Without knowing the code I could give a thousand guesses. If I knew the code I could narrow my guesses to less than twenty. You need to take it to a dealer that will diagnose the code, repair it and then DRIVE it afterward to verify it is fixed, before they put you back in it.
I'm wondering, going forward, what those of us with the turbo upgrade should do in a service situation that requires a reflash? I'd hate to wind up with the ECM being reflashed back to the standard calibration, then be unable to download the GMPP upgrade calibration. It would seem that any significant code changes to the OEM calibration would have to also be applied to the upgrade calibration on a parallel track.
I too have wondered about this.... I am hoping that the "flash" is vehicle specific and the VIN number would trigger the upgraded tune, but to be safe I will always remind my service adviser that I have the tune and want it back with said tune, if/when I take my car in for service...
