Hello all,
Just drove home about 10 miles with no boost. There is no CEL. This is the first time this has happened. I don't think it has the GM upgrade. When i bought the car with 64k it ran awesome had about 15-17 psi. Never more never less. A few months ago it started a faint crackling sound and around the same time i lost a couple psi. the past few months i've had 13-14 psi give or take along with a random hesitation. A week ago i had a CEL p0101. I had the MAF replaced. Not sure if any of this is related to the current no boost issue but i'm throwing out the history of the car just in case it helps anyone help me. Ive had the car about a year and it has 86k on it. Ive read many threads on here with the same no boost issue but those cars were GM upgrade cars. I'm stuck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

 

Have you checked any of the connections on/going to the turbo?

 

I've inspected everything i could. Car on stands looked underneath. The only thing i saw that confused me was a little oil on the bottom side of the inlet pipe right before the turbo. Not sure what that's all about. Connections appeared to be ok.

 

UPDATE: Took it down the road yesterday after my initial post and my boost was back but not all of it. It was around 10 psi. It's gotta be a loose connection somewhere right???

 

Possibly a boost leak which is related to P0101. Most common area to check is plastic end tanks on the intercooler. Also check all the piping. do you know how to do a boost leak test?

 

I did the best visual inspection of the piping i could with the engine running and not running. Did not see any obvious leaks. I found the boost leak test thread on here. It's -10 degrees here now so I might take it to my mechanic for the leak test.

 

If you can't see a visible leak area, you might want to take a look at the BPV on the turbo. Look for a bad diaphram.
Pain in the rear to take out for a look but it could save you some diagnostic time if it turns up bad.

Thanks I will check that out. I drove it today and it ran good for most of the day then back to zero boost. I hate it when my baby's sick

 

I have an appointment for Friday @ 1400 to get the BPV checked out. I'm having them do general inspection of the piping and whatnot as well. Anything else I should have them check while they are in there? I hate taking my car to the shop but it's just too damn cold outside for me to justify doing it myself. (no garage)

 

They need to pull off front facia, pressurize the piping and check for leaks. Hope they have experience with turbo cars or you could be wasting your time and $
