Exclamation No rpm in neutral

As you can tell by the title my hhrss09 when in neutral will not go to high rpm and starts sputtering. Any help out there?

Moved this from an 8 year old dead thread!

The usual questions pop into my head, any codes? If there are , what are they?
Any changes lately, any wires moved around, any loose connections??

What are you considering as "high RPM"?? If IRC, these cars have a rev limiter, in neutral and pushing up through the gears. Could that be what you are recognizing? Have you been able to achieve the high RPM's previously?

Haven't said if it's an automatic or a stick. I just looked at a file and in neutral or park it's 3000 RPM form the factory. As snoppy asked, what is considered high RPM?

The sputtering does sound like it could be a rev limiter.

Definitely ref limiter. I agree. Now stop trying to impress your friends by revving it while stationary and impress them revving it in motion! Also IDK if it makes a difference but my 2006 2.4 is limited to 4000in park or neutral!

Agree it might be a rev limiter or I know my Trifecta has the option to change the launch control RPM setting.

Hmmm... just tried it in my 09 SS, went to full redline, very quickly, I might add

Cuba, what RPM are you getting to? You may have a problem after all. I have a manual trans.
