p0221 yet again!!

so i had the dreaded p0221 code about 2 months ago, had it checked and had the throttle body replaced, along with a new lower charge pipe. just in the last 2 days it started throwing the same code again!! what gives! could it possibly be the pedal position switch this time? I cant believe its the throttle body again... but who knows! any ideas??

Time to investigate .....

P0221 - OBD-II Trouble Code

Look at the common misdiagnosis, and common causes

Directs your attention to the harness connection at the throttle body!

Try these links:

P0221 - OBD-II Trouble Code

Either wiring or APP is my guess.

Maybe you could just look and feel the wiring? That might be cheaper than throwing parts.

One of those links has a list of frequently misdiagnosed items.

I would doubt it's the pedal. It's not much more than a potentiometer(variable resistor). I would, as Don suggested, check out that new pigtail. You may need to check upstream towards the ECM as well. Since you've had the problem recently. Or... take it back to the dealer, that's why you paid a premium!

I like that a common misdiagnosis for the pedal sensor is the floor mats! I seem to remember those being a problem on my 78 Big10. Couldn't get the secondaries to open unless you tried shoving the pedal through the floor! Which I did, many of times. The works, it was an all option 454 big block.

bringing back my thread here because of recent issues...
i had the throttle body replaced a few months back with a new pigtail. recently got the same codes, and not the same time, sometimes it was just P0121 and or P0221, then both at one time. took it back and the repair shop pulled apart all the connections by the throttle body, cleaned them and used dielectic grease on all connections. got the car back and drove good for about a week and coded P0121 on me again yesterday. I got home and let it sit and cool off and just for the hell of it, i pulled off my MAF sensor and cleaned it with MAF cleaner. let it dry and put it back and let it sit overnight. got in this am and started the car. Went back inside for a minute and thought i could hear the car idleing rather high. went out and checked and was idleing about 2100 and slowly creaping up! turned it off and checked codes on my Aeroforce and throwing the same P0121 code and another new one... P0507! after i cleared them, and restarted, all seemed to be good and drove it to work with no issues. the shop that did the throttle body is re-ordering another throttle body just in case because of the P0121 code. any more ideas?

It could be a faulty throttle body
It could be loose ground wire
