I just figured that once you remove the stock LCA and then remove 4 bushings and 2 ball joints and buy and replace them with new parts, are you saving any money? $368 was the total including shipping…

Last I heard the GM full LCA was out of stock. $176 for the left and $220 for the right.

We don't have the harsh weather, like they get back east, here in California. The ball joints should last a long time. I've put over 100,000 miles on mine, if they are original, that's over 180,000 miles. And the front bushings should last practically forever, there isn't much stress on them at all.

But the rear bushing really gets stretched all the time, so they can wear out relatively quickly. Put a set of the aforementioned problem solvers on your new control arms. Then after you swap in the new, have a good look at the old ones, replace what is needed, and you'll have a backup set!

This SS Panel came from Irvine Texas. I haven't really inspected it closely, just figured once I remove the stock LCA's I might as well just replace all the rubber. Do you think that since I already have the aluminum version LCA's I should consider saving some money by just replacing the rear bushings and leave the rest alone? It's not a primary car so down time isn't a huge deal...

I stopped being lazy and just jacked up the car and puled the front wheels to thoroughly inspect the LCA's.... You were correct, the ball joints and the forward bushings are fine. Just the rear bushings are completely blown out, as well as the sway bar bushings, which are also trash. I will cancel the ZZP full LCA order and just replace what is needed.

My new question is should I replace the rear bushings with Moog-k201285 bushings from RockAuto for $70 for the set or the OOTP Spherical Control Arm Bushings that are on sale at the moment for $140 for the set? Which is easier to install?

Thanks for the guidance!

Both the same to install, I prefer the Moog product as they are coated to resist rust, but I live in Canada. I have no problem saving $ either so they are also much more economical.

There are 2 version; the one with a plating to use with aluminum because unlike metals encourage corrosion, weather doesn't matter much with Galvanic corrosion. Steel on steel is okay, steel on aluminum you might never separate.

Moog K200792 are metal , no coating to stop corrosion or unlike metal bonding to the aluminium lower control arms.
I have installed these

Moog K201285 is coated to resist corrosion , I have installed these in my 2011 3 years ago now, no signs of corrosion or damage to the aluminum lower control arms,

I’ve never seen the OTTP bushings I don’t know if they are they aluminium or steel?

K200792 Moog stamped into the top metal ring

K201285 , Moog stamped into the outer body of the bushing

OTTP appear to be smooth metal, no coatings or stamping
