Questions about spring and sway bar upgrades

I have not been able to find an answer on the forums for the following questions , so here goes. I want to upgrade to Pedders springs: will I need new shocks or struts with the springs? Also, what model Pedders do I need for the HHR SS. On to the next question.....I am ordering an OTT Hardcore sway bar, does the SS have a sway bar already? if so will it need to be removed before installing the upgraded OTT sway bar? I am a noob to upgrades so be gentle. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

Check with TurboTechRacing for the springs. They are a supporting vendor here. You don't have to have new struts or shocks and no there is not a rear sway bar on the SS so you will not need to remove one

No problem. Just click their name in my post above and it will take you to their page with the springs

The Pedders springs are basically the same spring rates as stock so there is no shock upgrade required...they more or less changed the ride height. Not that you have an overly large selection of shocks to choose from........you probably already have about the best your going to get without digging really deep into your pockets...

I got in on the last group buy on upper motor mounts so I am good there. I am fortunate enought to be able to store my car for the winter and am piling up parts for this spring...so far I have the TTR upper motor mount and GM stage kit. I can't wait until...oh lets say April (you never know in WI) to get all these mods on. I am going to order the Springs from TTR soon. Thanks again to all for your help!

I have the exact same combo than you're thinking about, and I'm sure you are going to be very impressed with the results.
No need to replace anything on the struts, expect the springs, as Pedders has testing the setup to get the best handling out of the SS, with their springs. Same spring rates as stock, and it will drop you down to the correct stance for a FWD car, and not affect the ride quality very much. Rides a little firmer, but "Oh Baby" does it handle now.
The OTTP "Hardcore" rear bar, being a inch and a quarter[versus a one inch bar, on all the others] sticks the rear end really good, and very easy to install.
After wringing out this combo, real hard, it's hard to imagine sticking the SS any harder. The handling now is extremly impressive, and the "Wow" and "Gee" factor, goes off the scale. You're gonna love it.
Post what you think after the install.
Might consider a set of shoulder harness's for future fun. It's that good. "Moon"

Well I'll be honest...after doing some research I wanted to copy your setup which is why I had these questions. I'm nervous about voiding my warranty with the trifecta tune but who knows I may do it (I picked up my SS June 2010) I can't wait to get them all done and report back! Thanks for the inspiration Moon.

Update

-Pedders springs from TTR on backorder for 4 weeks as of 2-24-11 (I was told they are on the boat from Australia)

-OTT hardcore rear swaybar on backorder for 4 weeks as of 2-24-11

Oh well.. should start getting nice outside by then. I'll report back after the install
