Rough Idle

Rough Idle
There is no loss of performance. The car just started running rough at idle and jumping forward when stopped. Is this a known issue?
2008 SS model
I'm going to take it to have the codes read. The check engine light is on.

Sorry, but without the actual code number it's hard to say.
Fwiw. Auto parts employees who read codes are known to give out slightly inaccurate info sometimes. All they know how to do is read the description which isn't always correct.
There was a number of folks who went and had their codes read and were told the sensor was bad. Most of those turned out to be the actuator solenoid and NOT the sensor.
So. What is the actual code number ?

x2 - without the code, the thread is worthless if you are looking for advice. If it happened twice, and cleared up by itself does not mean the problem is gone. Dollars to donuts it will come back as a lot of the errors that get flagged by the CEL are drive cycle dependant.

The problem came back. I did not get the code number. He just told me what it said. The car seems to be fighting against the brakes in drive at a stop. I'm just tired of having issues with the car. It has spent 8 months in the shop for other issues. This one is too much. I think im done and going to trade it in. To me it feels like the torque converter again. They changed it last year. New problem but I personally think its the same problem. Its not going to be covered for the repairs and i am tired of spending money on the car.

Im tired of asking about it. A lot of the answers on the problems with the 2008 in the system have stemmed from all the time they spent working on my car. They have sent both experts to work on it with the problems with the turbo and loss of power issue. They got that fixed by changing the torque converter. I have had ever issue with mine that is on this forum for my particular year model. Its frustrating to say the least. I love the car but at this point its not worth trying anymore.

I have had the car for 4 years and an accumulated 8 months of that time it has been worked on. There isn't really a viable, cheap for lack of term performance car since chevy decided that the camaro was to be the only ss model made. I guess im just going to go buy a malibu or even a camaro and try from there. Maybe one day chevy will get back to offering an lower cost performance car again. I am a die hard chevy fan and the memories the car has given me will last forever...
