SS Exhaust Reccomendations

Wanted to as the forum for recommendations on an exhaust system (manifold/down pipe/exhaust) upgrade.

Looking to go 3in (Down pipe all the way to the exhaust tip)

Also, will this require an ECU flash?

My choice would be Magnaflow, but it's all preference.

Once you go bigger piping, then go with a smaller muffler(s).

Yes yes yes...

I went to a totally different setup, to make it really quiet, & to
maintain maximum power.

Keep the stock DP, but 'core' the 2nd cat, with a piece of 2.75" tubing.
You don't even have to remove the DP to do this.

I next welded a flange onto a 2.5" diameter , 27" long round Magnaflow muffler,
To mate with the stock DP.

After this super long 6" diameter monster of a muffler, I used Magnaflows 3" piping, for what looks like the "S" piece of the exhaust system.

Then, in place of the rear 3" Magnaflow muffler, I used a 2.5" Magnaflow muffler, that looks the same as the 3" Magnaflow muffler, & ended with a stock HHR SS tip.

Super super quiet, but maintaining full power.

12.4s at the track, my last 2 times out, with a best of 12.39

I can't speak from experience BUT.....

Hahn Racing, a while back, install a custom made 3 inch exhaust on either a Solstice or a Sky with 2.0 turbo.....no other changes. IIRC he dynoed the change at 25 additional HP.

Don't know if he still has the set up or if it's still available, but you might want to check their website.

They do have a 3in down pipe and a custome exhaust, and I know a few people have the exhaust... no upgrades till spring in any event. Just "shopping" for now
