Still noisey

Had my hopes up on finding this noise from front end, after I finally took it in to the dearler. The service manager is a old drag racing friend of mine, and a real sharp cookie. Said they would find it sooner or later.
Took a test drive, and mechanic heard the noise, then left it with them.
They called up a few hours later and said no more noise, after tighting up two engine cradle bolts that were loose
On the way home[and it only does it on compression and rebound of susp. on low speed bumps, on course pavement] noise was'nt quite as loud, but still there. I think they quieted it down some on the frt. end noise, but not the one I'm hearing.
They [or so the mechanic said] checked struts, wheel hubs, engine cradle bolts[two loose].
So next week back to the dealer, for more sound scoping out, until we find the source of this rattling thump.
Anyone hearing funny noises from frt. end, might ought to check engine cradle bolts.
I think next up will be replace intermediate shaft and maybe rack and pinion. Fred[my buddy] said, they have had problems with intermediate shaft lubing. He said GM should have just put a grease fitting on the sliding joint.
Anyhow, once we find and fix this damn noise, I will update cause, and fix.

I'm still trying to figure out how to solve the noise coming from the center stack of the dashboard. Well, other than playing music really loud....

I had a similar noise on rebound particularly if I was turning slight right. Never got a straight answer from the dealer (and the tech is no longer there) but it was something in the rack and pinion and it's been fine ever since.

I had that noise too and playing the music louder worked until I added 2, 15's. Now it's worse than ever

If you are talking about the clicking noise, that happens over every tiny bump, they fixed mine after 3 trips to the dealership. They put small o-rings underneath the rubber bumpers and it shut that clicking up for good. The box closes a little stiffer now, but it is quiet.

The mystery noise I'm getting, is from the front end. At low speed, over small bumps, on course pavement, on compression and rebound of suspension, it makes a rattling thumping noise, with windows closed, radio off, louder going slightly downhill[at roughly 10 mph]. Sounds like either suspension or steering related.
Called my buddy at dealership this morning, and he said bring it in Monday, and we will keep working on it until we find and fix it. Keeping my fingers crossed, but my buddy[Service manager] is a pretty sharp cookie[he crews on one of the top running Top/Fuel cars, from time to time]. I'm sure we'll get er fixed, sooner or later. I'm determined to find this damn noise.
Other than the frt. end noise, I'm loving the SS. No other problems, and I run her pretty hard at times. "Moon"
P.S. The dealership is really liking what I've done to the SS. They are turning a blind eye to the mods.

It's just general noise generated by the dashboard components rubbing against each other, which has been a common problem in all my GMs. Which rubber bumpers are you referring to with the o-rings?

Moon, does it make the noise if you rock the car side to side? Mine did and it was the stabilizer links. The dealership also replaced the struts as they said there was a tsb out and it recommended doing both. The other likely culprit is the column or intermediate shaft. My 06 had the column go out, and the symptoms were similar to what you are stating. I would not expect it to make the noise when rocking the car back and forth if it's the column but I could be wrong.

Bart, was it posted on this site or elsewhere? More likely than not I will be out of town but if I'm around, I might be able to make it so I would like more info.
