Yeah I never can understand why auto companies don't run magnetic drain plugs.

My OL's Mopar has one, all my Harleys have them, too...

This is the one I added to my HHR, it uses a "Rare Earth Magnet" & Very powerful..

Yeah I know all the HD plugs are that way. As they should be!

I'd be afraid it would pick up man-hole covers as you drove over them.

that is some magnet!!

Changed mine today, first one also. I used Mobil 1 5w30 oil and Mobil 1 filter also.

Yes I have to be quick driving over man-holes..

I tested an auto-parts magnetic drain plug, & it was so anemic...

So a member here pointed me to an eBay seller that has these super magnets..

Things get tough, I can collect man-hole lids & scrap em for the iron..

Well I completed my first oil change today. Went well and was pretty easy. Especially after I found the oil filter was on top not underneath LOL.
Glad I bought the socket recommended on this forum. I was a bit puzzled when it came to resetting the Oil Life gizmo.I kept pressing the Info and Reset button as it said in the manual with no results but then discovered that if I pressed what I would call the Info and Return or Enter button it worked fine.
I have been 6000 miles with an average over this time of 27.1 mpg. It will be interesting to see if my mpg increases as Amsoil suggests it might using their signature series oil. Time will tell.

Cool, to reset my OLM, I just switch the key to On, (not starting it) & depress the gas pedal 3 times in under 10 seconds, & shut off key..
It's re-set, & same technique as Mopar uses..

Ok since my oil change a couple weeks ago using Amsoil Signature Series Synthetic oil my mpg has increased. I had an all time high of 27.1.
As of last night I am running at 27.6. I drive the same routes every day about 20 miles a day on back roads and 40 on the turnpike. Not Bad
The mpg feature has not been reset in over 6000 miles (fyi)

So your averaging with the previous miles? That would lend to believe your getting maybe 28+. I pull a combined 30.1 (turbo upgrade kit installed though, that's what put me in the 30's all the time). I should reset mine, this fall climate I average 33 or so.
