I've just noticed in the past few days that there has been a whining sound coming from the turbo when it spools up and down. Friend mentioned it could be a bearing. I'm not very educated on turbos so i appreciate any ideas.

Also curious if the power train warranty for the SS covers turbo issues...

The whining means turbo is going bad. It is covered under power train warranty. Had mine replaced about a month ago because of a faint whinng at WOT about 15+ psi.

 

thanks a ton. I knew there was a warranty list on here somewhere but i couldn't find it. I guess I have a date with the dealership on monday... Thanks guys.

 

When my turbo starts whinning I just threaten to replace it with a super charger...starts behavin right good afterwards...
