Pretty sure the bushings are the same. Grinding the rivets is not that challenging and by "pressing" we mean borrow a threaded rod tool from Advance/AZ/O'Reilly.
This is the simplest form, there are others.

I just watched a youtube where the guy measures the ball joint on a new LCA 20.5mm. It has the same bushing as FE1/FE3.

I have a set of GM SS-correct LCA's too. I was a bit surprised that they have that "hinged" bushing. Don't care much, because I sure they'd be fine and they'll get the Moog "problem solver" bushings anyway.

But wow, don't watch that vid. The guy has no idea what he's talking about and made at least three misstatements of fact.

THANK YOU FOR THIS!!

I signed up just now purely to say thank you for this.

I have two LNF Cobalts;
My yellow coupe (bought brand new), and our black sedan (bought from the third(?) owner - this car has had a hard life...
I had understood that many parts for these cars (and the HHR-SS) are unique, so before ordering parts my "first line of defense" is to check if the application is more than these vehicles;
Upon partial disassembly, I realized this evening that the drivers ball joint is pooched (it looks like it was replaced, c/w the wrong hardware), and I'd prefer to not go into my stash of SS-LNF specific parts (but that's another story);
I am a long time member over on Cobaltss.net - and I couldn't even find this information there!!

I just ordered three of those OTTP ball joints;
One for this control arm, and two as a match set of spares... because these are serviceable parts!

There is a difference between the turbo and the SC LCAs on Cobalt.

I see the OTTP ball joints are on sale right now so I just ordered a pair to have on hand for when needed. I probably scored the last two OEM LCAs in Alberta a few years ago when I had to replace the originals in my '08 SS.
