Cool 18 x 9.5 Rim Question

Hello out there!! I just purchased a 2006 HHR 2LT and LOVE it!!! I also have a Lexus with staggard 18 x 9.5 rear and 18 x 8.5 in the front. I am wondering what the widest rim one can put on the HHR if anyone has tested it. Id like to put these rims on the HHR... Any feedback would greatly be appreciated. (And if anyone has accomplished this please send me pics)

Well, those wheels are 3" wider than stock, there could be an issue or not. What you have to worry about is backspacing, the stock wheels have a lot. I don't know what Florida requires but that probably would not pass safety inspection in Utah, and no proof of passing inspection means no license plates here. Plus I wonder if the wheel bolt pattern is the same on a Lexus, I rather doubt it is.

Fla has no annual or semi-annual inspection..

Just an occasional road-side if they are looking for something, or safety check but that's rare..

both applications are 5 lug. But that's were the similarities end. They won't work on the HHR without changing the both pattern. They might be able to be redrilled but that should only be considered if you know that the back spacing isn't an issue. I have 8 1/2" wide on the front and 10" wide on the back and they don't stick out from the fenders and they don't rub and mine is also lowered.

Does anyone think that the additional rim & tire width, may put more wear & tear on the wheel bearings & etc ???

I know it looks much cooler, but...........

Wow! That sounds really nice! I'm on my iPhone and can't really get a good look at your HHR. Would it be possible for you to send me some closer shots of your car? My email is ocosta0273@yahoo.com. It would greatly be appreciated. Were you able to adjust the camber via stock assembly or did you get a camber kit as well to ensure alignment and wear weren't effected?

Good question. I hadn't even thought about those effects! My extended warranty probably wouldn't cover that. Thanks

Yes the bolt pattern is 5 x 114. I'm considering just widening the holes and using wider bolts. 5 x 114 is just a hair larger than the 5 x 110 on the HHR. I wonder if anyone has accomplished this as well.
