2008 hhr horrible tread wear on rear

I have a 2008 hhr lt with 160,000 miles. I have noticed with the last 3 sets of tires they were gone by 10,000 miles due to uneven tread wear.

Had 3 alignments in the past 1 and a half years but still no luck.

What could be the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the site  do you have a print out of your last alignment? Can you post up what the readings were?

stephen2140 02-16-2014 05:45 PM

They did not give me any readings.

If I knew how to post a pic I would show how bad the wear is.

The rear is able to be aligned but most places don't bother with the rear unless the customer complains about a problem in the rear. There is also a extra cost to align the rear.

Rear shocks can also cause tire ware but a different kind of ware then an alignment issue.

Do you have any pictures of your tire ware?

Yes but not sure how to attach on here???

You say rear tire wear?
Are you the original owner? Has this car ever had any rear end accident damage?
Rear tire wear will usually be the result of previous damage.
Other possibilities could be bad hubs, bushings or shocks if the tires are cupping.

If you could get the last alignment numbers, we could compare them to the factory specs. Otherwise, it's just a guess without anymore info.

I am the original owner, never been wrecked and rear shocks have been changed twice.
