245/45/18s fit on 18x8 aftermarket wheel on SS?

There's a nice price on some Eagle F1 tires in this size at Tire Rack. I know this tire is a little taller than stock, but am wondering if it would fit on the car and drive alright. It appears the speedometer would be off by 1-2 mph. Thanks!

The tire size calculator gives me 26.68 inches overall diameter..... it's tough to get much over 26" (plus a hair or two) up front because of the lower spring perch. I would say no, they wouldn't fit.

Way too tall, they'll hit the lower spring perches on the struts. As Greybeard stated, you can't go over 26" by more than a hair without problems and rubbing the inner sidewalls.

Its tighter than a tick's behind, the clearance issue with the lower spring perches determines the limits of tire size on the HHR. Lots of us use this site for determining wheel and tire size, just click on the link and you can play around with various parameters to see what will work.
